Joan Wermuth

Joan Wermuth, 76, of Naples passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2010 at Avow Hospice. She was born January 29th, 1934 in Philadelphia , PA , the youngest daughter of John J. and Margarite (nee Carey) Donegan. Joan was a graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic Girl's High School. She married her husband of 53 years, Robert L. Wermuth on August 18th, 1956 in Philadelphia . They had three children: Michael, Elizabeth and John. Joan and Robert lived in Madison , WI for 37 years before retiring to Wilmington , NC then permanently to Naples in 2000. Robert's career with Cuna Mutual of Madison , WI gave them the opportunity to travel all over the world including eleven trips to Joan's ancestral home of Ireland . She is survived by her loving husband, Robert ""Bob"" of Naples ; their children, Michael Wermuth of Pewaukee , WI ; Elizabeth ""Betsy"" (David) Cypcar of Arden, NC; and John Wermuth of Rice Lake , WI ; grandchildren: Andrew, Brian and Megan Cypcar of Arden , NC , and her sister Elizabeth ""Betty"" Donegan of Bryn Mawr, PA. Joan is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rita Waldron. Funeral services at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church were private. Committal services will be held Saturday, May 22nd, 10:45 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Chapel in Madison , WI . The family graciously thanks the staffs of Avow Hospice and Manor Care at Lely Palms.
