Joanne Orvold

Madison- Joanne M. Orvold, age 81, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Agrace in Fitchburg with her family by her side.  She was born in Leeds on February 19, 1939, the daughter of Robin and Gladys Crary.  Joanne was a longtime Madison resident.  She graduated from East High School.  On April 2, 1960 Joanne married Leon Orvold.  Together they enjoyed traveling in their R.V.  Joanne was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting and crafting with the ladies.  She enjoyed daytime shopping trips with her girlfriends.  Joanne is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leon; son, John (Sherri) Orvold; daughter, Kathy (Todd) Waitrovich; two very special granddaughters, Megan and Monica; grandson, Peter; multiple step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister, Audrey (Richard) Gullickson; and sisters-in-law, Jan and Nipa Crary.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eric Orvold; and two brothers, Marv and Darrell Crary.  Private burial will be held in Hope Cottage Grove Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or Agrace HospiceCare  Inc.  Thank you to all of the nurses who were involved in the wonderful care of Joanne.  Please share your memories of Joanne by posting on her Tribute Wall.
