Joanne Petit

SUN PRAIRIE - JoAnne M. Petit, age 78, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 16, 1939, in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Stella (Kennedy) McGowan. She graduated from Madonna Catholic Girls School in 1957. JoAnne was united in marriage to John Petit on November 18, 1961 in Aurora, IL. She was a member of Vaqueros Drum and Bugle Corp from Aurora. JoAnne loved bowling, golf and traveling. She enjoyed her trips to Venice, Florida with John and was also overjoyed to travel to Ireland with her sister Sharon.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Todd) Koberle and Jacquie (Randy) Thompson; her sister, Sharon Biever; and her beloved Cooper.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant brother.

A Memorial Mass will be held at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Savio Yerasani presiding. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A luncheon will follow the Mass at church.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to SSM Health at Home or Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church.
