Joanne Vander Zanden

Stoughton – Joanne R. Vander Zanden, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday September 24, 2022, in Lake Mills.  Joanne was born November 23, 1942, in the Town of Forest, WI to the late Alois and Bernice Braun.  She loved to have grown up on the family dairy farm.  She married Howard C. Vander Zanden on May 15, 1971, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.

Joanne loved her family and babysitting.  She enjoyed listening to polka music, gardening, watching the Brewers, playing Uno, watching game shows, and playing sheepshead and bingo.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 51 years Howard; daughter Sherry and son Jeff; brother Jim (Roseann) Braun, sister Geri (Frank) Steiner, Darlene (Jim) Mueller, brother Mike (Lori) Braun; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Bernard Braun, Richard Braun and Paul Braun.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday October 1, 2022, at ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St. Stoughton with Fr. Randy Budnar presiding.  Burial will follow at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service at the church on Saturday.
