Johanna Marie' Jerdee

Johanna 'Marie' Jerdee, age 89, passed away at her home in Brooklyn on Monday, November 30, 2009.   She was born in the Town of Pleasant Springs on December 16, 1919, a daughter of John and Susan (Erdahl) Wersland.   On October 3, 1942, she was united in marriage to Arthur N. Jerdee in Dubuque, Iowa.   Together, they farmed in the Stoughton, Cooksville and Brooklyn areas for many years.   Marie was a wonderful mother and grandmother.   She loved flowers, gardening, and crossword puzzles.   She enjoyed fancy work and made hundreds of afghans.   Marie is survived by a son, Larry (Vinnie Thousand) Jerdee; a daughter, Judy (Ron) Day; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Brannon; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Jerdee and Anna Wersland.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; two sons, Don and Jerry; two daughters, Laurie and Susan; a daughter-in-law, Cathy; six brothers; and three sisters.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with the Rev. Rebecca Ninke officiating.   Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Stoughton.   The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service.   A luncheon at the Stoughton VFW Hall will be held following the burial.   Thanks to HospiceCare, and especially to Melissa.   Memorials may be made in Marie's name to HospiceCare.
