Johanna 'Marie' Jerdee, age 89, passed away at her home in Brooklyn on Monday, November 30, 2009. Â She was born in the Town of Pleasant Springs on December 16, 1919, a daughter of John and Susan (Erdahl) Wersland. Â On October 3, 1942, she was united in marriage to Arthur N. Jerdee in Dubuque, Iowa. Â Together, they farmed in the Stoughton, Cooksville and Brooklyn areas for many years. Â Marie was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Â She loved flowers, gardening, and crossword puzzles. Â She enjoyed fancy work and made hundreds of afghans. Â Marie is survived by a son, Larry (Vinnie Thousand) Jerdee; a daughter, Judy (Ron) Day; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Brannon; and two sisters-in-law, Alice Jerdee and Anna Wersland. Â She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; two sons, Don and Jerry; two daughters, Laurie and Susan; a daughter-in-law, Cathy; six brothers; and three sisters. Â Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with the Rev. Rebecca Ninke officiating. Â Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Stoughton. Â The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service.
