Madison - Johanna M. Johnson (Callaghan), age 73, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at home from Pancreatic Cancer. Johanna was born to the late Michael and Winifred (Joy) Callaghan on May 20, 1942 in Stratford-upon-Avon and grew up in Coventry, England. After emigrating to the USA in December 1963, Johanna met the late Jim Johnson in New York City where they were married on February 27, 1971. During their marriage they lived in New York, New Jersey, Hawaii and Chicago before moving to Madison in 1975. Johanna worked at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, School of Business, Undergraduate Programs office from 1977 until her retirement as Assistant Dean in June 2000. Johanna, beloved sister and step-mother, is survived by her brother, Timothy (Ana) Callaghan of Brantford, Canada; and her sister, Marion (Maitland) Winter of London, England; and her step-daughter, Jill (Robert) Joles of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death in June of 2007 by her sister, Eileen Callaghan. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, followed by a reception at Cress. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research or a charity of your choice.
