John B. Deneen

STOUGHTON- John Bernard Deneen, age 56, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died suddenly on Friday, June 24, 2011, in Drummond WI. near the family cabin. John was born on May 8, 1955, to the late Bernard and Evelyn (Stoll) Deneen in Stoughton, WI. John graduated from Stoughton High School and later married Susan Quam on September 27, 1975, in Stoughton raising two daughters. John was employed with the Stoughton School District for more then 20 yrs. John loved to fish and go four wheeling and was the ""go to"" person when anything needed to be repaired around the cabin and home. John was a devoted husband and father taking interests in his two daughters' activities and special needs and was ""Papa"" to his two grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife Susan; his two daughters; Lisa Deneen and Jessica (Allen ""Duper"") Nielsen; his two grandchildren Jaxson and Addyson Nielsen all of Stoughton; his two sisters: Patricia (Ron) Ehle of Stoughton and Katherine (Tom) Cantwell of Waunakee; his brother Tim (Kathy) Deneen of Marshall; his brothers and sisters in law; Marvin Hareid of Edgerton; Carol Deneen, Wayne and Sandy Quam and Ted and Ann Olson all of Stoughton and cousin Julie (Shorty) Rice also of Stoughton and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Vincent and a sister Roberta Haried ; his parents-in-law, Miller and Jean Quam and a brother-in law Steve Quam.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 310 East Washington St. in Stoughton with the Rev. Bill Lehman officiating. Friends of the family may call on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, from 4-7 p.m. at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. Interment will be private. Memorials in John's name can be made to his grandchildren's education fund.
