John Kelley

July 5, 1963 — March 3, 2020

We are sad to announce the unexpected death of our beloved dad, son, fiancé, brother and friend, John E. Kelley on March 3, 2020.  He was full of life, love and kindness and was taken too soon.

John was born on July 5, 1963 in Neenah, Wisconsin to John I. Kelley and Joanne E. Kelley.  He was the oldest of three siblings.  John was the proud father of Caitlin and John Kelley, and engaged to marry the love of his life, Leslie Bundy.

He was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a loyal employee of the Trane Company.

John’s open heart and kind soul attracted everyone.  Once you met John you were his forever friend.  His infectious smile drew people in and his stories kept them laughing.

John loved his family and was committed to spending time with everyone.  He was a proud and involved father and a dedicated son and brother.  He made the annual Kelley Family Thanksgiving reunion on Pensacola Beach a celebration; always bringing a 30 rack of Miller Lite and a week’s worth of new stories to keep the family laughing.

John loved to cook and play golf, and in spite of what he told you he was a better cook than he was a golfer.  He was, in fact, the proud, two-time champion of the Annual Trane Chili Cook Off.

Seven years ago he met the love of his life, Leslie Bundy. They shared a love of the beach, the water, Jimmy Buffett music and laughter.

John was always the last one to leave a party.  We can only believe that he is waiting to welcome us with a smile on his face and a beer in his hand at the party he will never have to leave.

John was predeceased by his father, John I. Kelley and is survived by his daughter, Caitlin Kelley, son, John Kelley, mother, Joanne E. Kelley, fiancé, Leslie Bundy and her children Caitlin Bundy and Collin Bundy, sister Karen Kelley Wolter (Chuck), sister Patti Kelley Lawrimore (Todd), and nieces and nephews Zachary, Hannah and Jack Wolter and William Lawrimore.

In lieu of flowers, John’s family asks that donations be made to the Children’s Miracle Network or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
