John C. Liposcak

John C. Liposcak, age 77, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Meriter Hospital, in Madison, after a short illness.   John was born December 8, 1930 in Gary, Indiana, as the only and beloved child of Andrew and Beatrice (Musselman) Liposcak.   He grew up primarily in Gary, but loved living near Schenk's Corners in Madison during his early elementary school years.   John graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and served in the Korean War.   He married Mary Ann Wickstrom on November 2, 1957, and moved back to Madison with her in 1958.   John and Mary Ann celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family last fall.   John was a devoted and beloved husband, father, son and grandfather.   He worked for Anchor Savings & Loan as a real estate appraiser for 30 years, but he lived to take care of his family.   He enjoyed spending time at home, at the family ""farm"" in Iowa County, at Wickstroms' Refugio on the Wisconsin River, and in Northern Wisconsin.   John is survived by his wife Mary Ann Liposcak; son Curtis (Melissa) Liposcak and their children, Jemima and Jeremy, of Madison;   daughter Diane (Luke) Milligan and their children, Colleen and Emmett, of Madison; and son Andrew (Cassie) Liposcak and their daughter, Sophia, of Austin, Texas.   His sixth grandchild is expected in March.   John was preceded in death by his parents.   Memorial services will be held at BETHANY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3910 Mineral Point Road, in Madison, on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.   Visitation   will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to Bethany UMC or the charity of your choice.
