John M. Waggoner, age 65, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2020 at home. John was born in Madison on December 6, 1954.
John worked many years in auto restoration (his passion was to restore classic vehicles). He was also a well-known cab driver in the Madison area. All through his life he loved helping others in whatever way he could. He experienced Acts 2:38 in August 1997 and he loved sharing his faith with others. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, eating, watching birds with his wife, going for drives (scenic back roads), and spending time with the grandkids, family, and friends.
John is survived by his wife Lynne; his sons Jermey Haasl, Kenny, Ted Waggoner; daughter Cassandra Phillips; grandchildren Daeja, Latrell, and Xavier, Jr. He is further survived by his siblings, Jean Frantzen, Joan (Bradley) Kendall, Roger Waggoner (Michael Manning), Priscilla Waggoner, Julia (John) Bailey, Paul (Mercedes) Waggoner, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes Waggoner; brothers Joseph Waggoner, Ralph Waggoner; sister, Margaret (“Peggy”) Manning; and nieces, Charissa Frantzen and Tracy Midlefort-Kendall.
Memorials can be made out to the family of John Waggoner and sent to the funeral home (Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E Washington Ave, Madison, WI 53704). A funeral service will be held at a later date.
