John Fitch Michler

April 30, 1939 — January 20, 2009

Michler, John F.   MADISON- John F. Michler went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 20, 2009.   He was born April 30, 1939 in Merrill, Wisconsin to Hilbert and Clara Michler.   A prominent Wausau attorney, John practiced with the law firm of Ruder Ware since February 1, 1967.    John was a Director and President of Camp Manito-wish YMCA (President 1980-1982), the Dan Storey Foundation, Inc. (President 1973-C) and McDevco (Marathon County Development Corp.) (President 1990-1992). He was a Director and Secretary of the Judd S. Alexander Foundation, the Paul and Ruth Schultz Foundation and the Victor and Helen Geisel Foundation; and a Director and Treasurer of the Walter Alexander Foundation. John also served as a Director of the North Central Technical College Foundation.   He was a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and an Emeritus Trustee of the Nature Conservancy of Wisconsin.   John also served on the North Central Health Foundation, the City of Wausau Ethics Board, the Board of Directors of the Henry and Gladys Phillips Foundation, and was a member of the Wausau Rotary Club and the American Bar Association Committee on Administration and Distribution of Decedent's Estates.   He is survived by his wife, Susanne.   Memorials may be made to Camp Manito-wish, Boulder Junction, WI, the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, Wausau, WI, or to Geneva Campus Church Development Fund, Madison, WI.   A memorial service is being planned for mid to late February.   Specific date and time to follow.
