John Nelson Mickelson

Stoughton- John Nelson Mickelson, age 77, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2011 at Friendship Circle of Skaalen Home. He was born on March 18, 1934, the son of Clyde and Alice (Nelson) Mickelson. John graduated from Stoughton High School in 1952. He married Connie Strommen on November 10, 1956. John was a long time employee of the U.S. Post Office in Stoughton. In his retirement years, he enjoyed building model ships and doll houses. John enjoyed vacationing in Northern Wisconsin. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers. John is survived by his wife, Connie; daughter, Julie (Roger) Wisinger; and son, John (Cathy) Mickelson. At John's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Skaalen Home Friendship Circle. A special thanks to the staff of Friendship Circle and HospiceCare Inc, especially Sara B., Chris and Tracy who were with John from day one!
