John Orvis

Sun Prairie-John E. Orvis, age 50, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 20011 at UW Hospital from complications from cancer. He was born on July 24, 1961 in Madison the son of Eugene & Evelyn (Newbury) Orvis. He was united in marriage on August 11, 1990 in Sun Prairie with Kathy Kreger and she preceded him in death on September 24, 2008. John was a lifelong resident of the Madison area. He graduated from Madison LaFollette High School, Class of 1979. John served his country with the U.S.Army. He was a longtime employee of Boumatic LLC. (Formerly Dairy Equipment) of Madison, as a welder. John in his lifetime enjoyed numerous outdoor and indoor activities. He loved to hunt, golf, bowl, play softball and was a devoted fan of the Brewers, Packers and Badgers. He will be missed by his beloved family which include his children, Jeremy Kreger and Amanda Orvis; his mother, Evelyn Orvis; brothers, Michael (Susan) Orvis, his twin brother James (Kathy) Orvis; sister, Karen Wilcox; special friend, Wendy; nephews, nieces and many friends. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his father. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie with Rev. Dr. David J. Berggren officiating. A time of gathering will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
