John R. Foerst

MADISON - John R. Foerst "Jack," age 86, passed away on June 23, 2023.

He was born on October 1, 1936, in Madison, to John and Ruth Foerst. Jack graduated from Madison West High School in 1955, and from UW-Platteville with a B.S. degree in Industrial Arts in 1960. He served our country in the Naval Reserves for eight years. On January 29, 1960, he married Nancy E. Richardson; they were married for 62 years and raised two children in Madison.

Jack worked for the Madison Public School District as an Industrial Arts Instructor for 35 years. After he retiring from MPSD, he worked as a crossing guard for six years in Madison. Jack enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, counties west of Madison and surrounding Madison lakes. He also enjoyed hunting pheasants with his dogs, working around his house and garden.

Jack is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Bryan; daughter, Theresa Wright; and grandchildren: Christina and Connor. Further survived other relatives and friends.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE LIVING CHRIST, 110 N. Gammon Rd., at 11:00 am. The visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, in Jack's name may be made to the church or Fishing Has No Boundaries (www.fhnbinc.org).
