Madison -- John Sayre ""Jack"" Raymond, age 92, died at his home in Madison on Saturday, February 20, 2010. Â Jack was born in 1917 on a farm near the village of Fulton in Rock County. Â After graduating from Edgerton High School, he enlisted in the United States Army during WWII. Â He was wounded in Italy and carried shrapnel on his back and legs for the rest of his life. Â After the war, Jack attended the University of Wisconsin under the GI Bill. Â In an accounting class he met Marjorie Price from Edgerton. Â They later married and in 1953 the moved to Meyer Avenue in Westmorland. Â Jack worked initially as an accountant for the Conservation Department and later as Head Accountant for the Motor Vehicle Department. Â Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie, three children; John (Bonnie) Raymond Ph.D. of Melrose, MA, Richard Raymond Ph.D. of Ann Arbor, MI, and Linda Powers MD of Chestnut Hill, MA, four grandchildren; Jennifer (Matt) Ender, D. Aaron Raymond, Max Powers and Holly Powers, two great grandchildren; Cynthia and Nathaniel Ender, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many family and friends in Madison and Edgerton areas. Â Jack will be missed by many as a relative, neighbor and friend. Â A memorial gathering will be held in the near future.
