John ""Jack"" Owen Rowe

September 28, 1926 — November 23, 2008

John  ""Jack"" Owen Rowe, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23. 2008 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg.   John was born on Sept. 28, 1926, the son of Clarence and Jennie (McWilliams) Rowe in Marinette, WI, and was raised in Porterfield, WI.   He was united in marriage to Louise Salzmann on June 28, 1952 in Arena. Jack received his BA degree in Business Administration from Carroll College in 1950.   Jack and Louise owned and operated the A & W Drive-In-Restaurant on East Washington Ave from 1959 until 1982.   Jack was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church since 1960, a Master Mason of  Sun Prairie Masonic Lodge #143,   Zor Shrine, Scottish Rite, Royal Order of Jesters Madison Court No. 126, former member of the Zor Arab Patrol (deactivated), and the Madison Elks No. 410.   John is survived by his loving wife, Louise, sister-in --law Margaret Rowe, nieces Barbara Pergande, Nancy Rowe, Gayle Harris, and nephew Stephen Wood.   He was preceded in death by his parents; Clarence and Jennie Rowe, sisters; Grace ( Jerry) Jorgens, Fay (John) Wood, and brothers Willard Rowe, and Donald (Ann) Rowe.   A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd Madison, WI with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service.   Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church, Shriners Hospital for Children, Carroll College or the charity of ones choice.
