John Joseph Sarac, age 52, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on March 26, 1960 in Madison, son of Joseph and Joan (Kroetz) Sarac. He was united in marriage to Cynthia Overly on September 19, 1986 in Sun Prairie.
John was a graduate from East High in 1978. He was a Master Technician at Graham's Auto and Truck Clinic in Poynette. He was proud to be an ASE Master Technician. John loved spending time at his trailer. He enjoyed his dogs, and loved being a grandpa to his granddaughter. His passion was working on automobiles and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia, daughters Katherine and Stephanie, granddaughter Madyson, mother Joan Sarac, brothers Michael (Susan) of Westport, Jeffery of Madison, sisters Susan Reyes of Watertown , and Jill McConnell of Madison; mother-in-law Dorothy Overly,brother-in-laws Harry J. Overly Jr. of Windsor, Richard Overly of Arlington, Thomas (Sheri) Overly of Baraboo, Robert Overly of DeForest, Michael (Jan) Overly of Mequon; sisters-in-law Rebecca (Eric) Lingenfelter of DeForest, Susan (Christopher) Herschleb of Columbus and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Sarac Jr., father-in-law Harry Overly Sr., brother-in-law Donald Overly, niece Amanda Sarac, nephew TJ Beld, God father Willis Pulfus, maternal grandparents Melvin and Florence Kroetz, and paternal grandparents Joseph and Katherine Sarac.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 4-7:00 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 am at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 232 Windsor Street, Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
A special thanks to Graham and Nathan Counihan for being such great friends, and to Dr. Stuart Turner for his care over the years; to his hospice team Jess, Cheryl and Dr. Anthony Braus and all the nurses at Agrace HospiceCare for their wonderful care for his last days.
