John Stokstad

Stoughton - John Richard Stokstad, passed away on 11/02/2024 after a battle with cancer. He was born on February 5, 1950. John graduated from Stoughton High School in 1968, school is where he met his wife Sheila, “the country girl”. 

John loved an exciting fantasy or science fiction book or movie. He enjoyed spending time caring for the grounds at the American Family Insurance campus. He planned, planted and then prided himself on the flower beds each spring. 

John is survived by his sons Michael (Jenifer), Matthew (Michelle Tjugum), grandchildren, Keeton Stokstad, Sydney Tjugum, Alexandra (Blaine) Morrison, Payton (Tim Stenner) Faircloth, Zachary Barber, as well as her 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Brow Stokstad, Dan (Deb) Stokstad, sister Sara (Butch) Parr, brother-in-law Jeff (Sue) Natvig, and sister-in-law Barbie Gowan. As well as many nieces and nephews. 

John was preceded in death by his wife Sheila Stokstad (Natvig), parents Douglas and Shirley Stokstad, father and mother-in-law Roger and Shirley Natvig, and his nephew Aaron Stokstad. 

A celebration of John’s life will be held on May 17, 2025, time and place TBD at a later date.
