John Jerome Joseph Zwadzich, age 83, of Fitchburg passed away peacefully on Monday July 4, 2022. John was born on January 6, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI to Joseph Zwadzich and Irene (Kempa) Zwadzich.
John grew up in the south side of Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Pulaski High School. He completed his Bachelor of Science from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was in the US Army Reserve. John worked at the State of Wisconsin Investment Board as the Bonds Director. John met his wife Patricia Christy Simon and they married in 1980. He was a loving father, uncle, grandfather, brother, and friend. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family listening to Old Time Radio and classical music, fishing, walking on train tracks, biking, watching war movies, traveling for vacations and Badger Bowl Games together. John loved starting and ending his days with prayer and taking long walks. He was a long-standing Badger fan and football season ticket holder, along with the Packers. John earned the name “Johnny Two Dollars” because he always carried two dollars bills and used them for tips, donations, and friendly wagers. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his children; Mary Raina (Arthur) Haralampopoulos, and Zachary Adam Steven Zwadzich; his grandchildren George and Eugenia Haralampopoulos, his nephews and nieces, and his Godson Christopher Dingman. We love you and will miss that great smile and laugh.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ronald, Bernard, and Thomas (Carol) Zwadzich; and his loving life partner, devoted wife, and best friend, Patricia (Simon) Zwadzich.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday July 9 followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, WI 53717.
