Joseph Jungbluth

July 18, 1925 — June 21, 2012

Jungbluth, Joseph
Stoughton- Joseph Jungbluth, age 86, passed away at his home in Stoughton on Thursday, June 21, 2012. He was born in Fitchburg on July 18, 1925, a son of Emil and Mata (Heiny) Jungbluth. Joe was the last of a first generation American emigrant family that came from the small village of Alt Krenzlin Mecklenburg in 1884, seeking a better life. They brought a tradition of work ethics and family values that enriched Dane County, and this adopted state of Wisconsin. Joe was raised in Dane County and has fond memories of living near the Springs at Token Creek where he remembers his Mother was healed of disease from these waters. And of a little black pony he rode to school every day. And then... Joe met his wife Alta on Valentines Day at the Majestic Theatre just off the Square. After living in Madison they moved to Austin Texas for several years and then back in 1962 where they began farming in Stoughton. While farming and milking a herd of 40 cows, as well as working the fields, Joe moonlighted at Nelson Industries where he made many friends and also retired from. He then worked for many years at the local Home Savings Bank until he was in his 80's, again making many friends. A well known scene in Stoughton for years was Joe sitting at his card table full of raspberries on the corner of Main Street and Highway 138. Everyone loved Joe's raspberries. He would deliver them to various businesses bringing along a gallon of ice cream for everyone's enjoyment. Joe also delivered asparagus to the local restaurants for years, still doing it at age 86. His family and friends will also miss his yearly garden full of beans, potatoes, beets, lettuce, cabbage and the biggest carrots in the world. Pumpkins and squash for all the family. Joe also loved to play practical jokes as well as dress up every Halloween incognito. He was always telling a joke, laughing, and dancing around the kitchen. Joe was constable for the township of Dunn for many years. Once he picked up a particular dog who ended up finding its family after being missing for 6 months. Joseph was a husband, a wonderful father to two children, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two Great Great grandchildren. He leaves us all with wonderful memories and family traditions never to be replaced and always to be remembered forever. Joseph leaves children: Diane Jungbluth- Ogden, Madison and Linley Jungbluth-Young, Marinette. Daughter in laws, Kate Young and Tamara Hull. Daniel Hull, Chad Hull, Cody Ogden, Chris Ogden, Lindsay Ogden, Justin Young, Erin Young, Travis Young, Grandchildren. Landon Corwin-Young, Briana Hull, Danielle Blundon, Dani Johnson, Kennede Hull, Twins Camryn Hull and Karnsyn Hull. Foster Grandchildren, Katy Gress and Kimberly Bromley. Great Grandchildren. Cayden Jensen and Karli Grace Ogden, Great Great Grandchildren. And many more to come.
