Joyce Alme

Stoughton- Joyce E. Alme, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Nazareth House in Stoughton. She was born on June 22, 1930 to her parents Stanley and Ella (Sponem) Hamilton on a farm in the Town of Vermont. On December 28, 1949 she was united in marriage to Vincent Alme at the Primrose Lutheran Church. Joyce was the first female to drive the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile during the 1950's. She also worked alongside her husband Vince with his excavating business. Joyce later had many jobs and job titles but her favorites were as a cook at Lane's Bakery, running her lunch wagon at auctions, and dealing in antiques at the Stoughton Antique Mall owned and operated by her son Jerry and wife Lois. In her younger days Joyce loved to dance and work in the tobacco fields. She loved to play cards and was proud to share her Blackjack skills with her grandchildren and their friends. Joyce also enjoyed fishing, puzzles, word searches, making lefse, and playing scrabble with the family. She loved her family and friends, and being part of the Hamilton Dynasty. Joyce is survived by her two daughters Vickie (Dick) Kittleson and Teresa Frame both of Stoughton, WI, a daughter-in-law Lois Alme of Stoughton, WI, grandchildren Cortney Kittleson, Kelley (Dustin) Kilian, Katie (Andrew) Beal, Jack Williford, Sally (Cory Larsen) Williford, Jack Williford, Andrew Frame, and Alan Frame, great-grandchildren Karissa, Brandon, Evelyn and Ethan. She is further survived by her sister Dorothy Hustad of New Glarus, WI, sisters-in-law Bernice Hamilton and Bernice Hamilton both of Verona, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vince in 1984, son Jerry in 2005, grandson James Williford in 2006, four brothers Parnell (Arlene and Murillia) Hamilton, Eugene Hamilton, Larry (Genevieve) Hamilton, and Don Hamilton, two sisters Lavona (La Verne) Miller and Fern (William) McMahan, and a brother-in-law Donald Hustad. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Ave., Stoughton, WI with the Rev. Sara Thiessen officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a dinner reception immediately following at the Stoughton VFW Post #328. A graveside burial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Rutland Center Cemetery, 687 Hwy 14, Rural Oregon, WI. Relatives and friends may call from 3:30 p.m to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton.
