Joyce Kiesling

Madison - Joyce (Eckert) Kiesling, age 86, of Madison, Wisconsin, was born to eternal rest on Monday, January 6th, 2020. Joyce was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. A long time resident of Racine with her loving husband Richard Kiesling where they raised their family, Joyce and Richard later retired to Madison.

Joyce was born on May 16th, 1933, the daughter of Albert Roy and Ella (Sharrot) Eckert.

A valedictorian graduate of nursing from Elizabeth General Hospital of New Jersey, it was in Bayonne where she would meet her future husband of 58 years, Richard and they would marry New Years Eve, December 31st, 1955 in Roselle, New Jersey. Work, Family and education would involve the next three decades of her life in Racine, Wisconsin. In Racine with many friends and neighbors, Joyce pursued a second degree in art and graduated with honors from UW-Parkside. She continued this love of art all throughout her life including world travels and in the Madison area. Joyce enjoyed not only being a drawing and painting artist but also an accomplished print artist.

Joyce is survived by her sons Bob and Ron (Mary), her four grandchildren that she was very proud of; Derek, Kalin (Brian), Alex, Sarah and her beautiful great granddaughter Riley.

The family wishes to thank the many good people at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge for the many years of love, kindness and memories that Joyce received. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Oakwood Foundation, Inc. 6201 Mineral Point Rd, Madison, WI 53705-4598.

A funeral service will be at 12:00 PM (noon) on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI 53590. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until time of service. Private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.
