Joyce Yvonne Parker

Waunakee-Joyce Y. Parker, age 75, passed away on Wed., November 17, 2010 at Homestead Living in Waunakee. Joyce was born in Eau Claire on June 23, 1935 the daughter of Edward and Gunda (Froseth) Swanson. She was a graduate of Eau Claire High School. Joyce lived in the Madison area since 1961. On August 14, 1955, she was united in marriage with David Parker in Eau Claire and together they raised four children. Joyce was employed with WI Bell for 25 years as a telephone operator. She loved being a mother and enjoyed singing, music, and crafts. Joyce is survived by her husband, David of Waunakee, her children Jeffrey (Pamela) Parker, Waunakee, Joy Parker, DeForest, James (Karen) Parker, Austin, TX and Jay (Patti) Parker, Madison; grandchildren Justin (Bailey), Jeremy, Janelle, Ashley, Kjersten, Suzanne, Michael and Allison; 3 great-grandchildren; brother Edward Swanson, Boulder, CO and sister Lorraine Market, Eau Claire; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Ionne Dickens and Eileen Duarte. Services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 5901 Hogan Road, Waunakee with Reverend Sharon Cook officiating. Family and friends may visit the family on Friday, November 19, 2010 from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. at Winn -Cress Funeral Home and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove.
