Joyce Spilde

November 6, 1938 — August 19, 2021

Sun Prairie – Joyce A Spilde, 82, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Meriter Hospital.

Joyce was born November 6, 1938 in Hinsdale, IL to Henry and Lillian (Rampage) Trimner.  She graduated from Edgerton High School in 1956.  She married Richard Spilde on July 5, 1958.  In 1961, their daughter, Cheryl, was born and shortly after they moved to Fort Lewis, Wash while Richard served in the Army National Guard.  In 1962, they returned to Wisconsin and eventually moved to Sun Prairie.  Joyce worked for Rural Insurance, Famous Footwear, and UW Facilities Planning-Warf Building project.  For the next 30 years, Richard and Joyce were a husband-wife realtor team for First Choice Real Estate Services and Keller Williams.

Friends and family of Richard (Dick) and Joyce knew that if you saw one of them, the other was somewhere nearby.  We often said they were “joined at the hip” as they were always by the other’s side.  They enjoyed golfing, playing cards, annual casino trips and spending time with family.  Joyce also enjoyed baking special holiday treats for friends and family.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Dave) Korenic; granddaughter Katie (Andrew) Lee, DeForest, grandson, Alex Korenic, Sun Prairie; and great-grandson, Dylan Lee.

A special thank you to the entire staff at Hyland Park Assisted Living.

A graveside visitation will be held at Bristol Lutheran Cemetery, 6835 County Road N, Sun Prairie on Monday, August 30th from 11:00am to 11:30am followed by a short service.  A family reception will be held immediately after the service.
