Judith Mary Grudzina

1948 – 2020

Judith Mary (Braun) Grudzina, daughter of Edmund Braun and Jane (Mickey) Braun, answered her call to Christ our Lord in the early morning hours of February 24, 2020, at the Edgerton Care Center in Edgerton, WI. She was 71.

Born on June 28, 1948 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI., Judy spent her childhood attending school in the Madison area, graduating from East Lafollette High School, and went on to study Education at UW-Whitewater.

She then started her career as a substitute teacher before finding and marrying her lifelong husband, Vincent Bernard Grudzina, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monona on June 26, 1971. Shortly after marriage, together they began working for the UW-Madison education system. She worked in both the department for International Studies, and as an admissions coordinator in the Department of Statistics before retiring emeritus in 2011.

Judith and her husband Vince were active within the Christ the King parish in McFarland, WI for over a decade, most notably participating within the church choir during both regular and holiday masses. Outside of the church, Judith was most at home outdoors either maintaining her property or expanding the gardens she built and cherished. Indoors, she was an avid piano player and collector of pianos and their accessories.

Judith is survived by her two sons Todd Vince and Jacob Paul Grudzina, and her siblings: Beverly (Miller), Barbara (Niemann), Patricia (Frydenlund), Jean (Gillette), Bernard, Richard, James, Shirley (Herkert), Sharon (Bartosh), Michael, Jacque, and Terry.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vince, her parents Jane and Edmund, and her brother Joseph.

Cremation services were provided by Cress Funeral and Cremation Service in Stoughton, WI. At this time the memorial service/funeral date and location are yet to be determined.
