MADISON - Judith Marie Olsen, 77, of Middleton, formerly of Albuquerque, NM and Monroe, WI passed away at UW Hospital on Sunday, April 30, 2017. She was born on December 1, 1939 in Wauwatosa, WI to Earl and Mary (Fry) Peck.
Judie was a 1957 graduate of Horlick High School in Racine, WI and went on to further her education graduating from Highland Community College and Concordia University with a degree in Marketing. Judie worked for the Monroe Evening Times as a reporter, Monroe Hospital and the University of New Mexico Hospital. In her retirement she moved to Middleton, WI where she has been an active resident of the area and involved in organizing a book club, chair yoga and bingo to name a few. She has also been an active member at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Judie loved college athletics. She looked forward to watching and talking about every Wisconsin Badger football and basketball game for many years. She also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers on television.
She is survived by her sons Toby (Dawn) Olsen of Savage, MN and Tim (Joan) Olsen of Auburn, CA; two grandchildren Mitchell (Breanna) Olsen, Taryn (Kyle) Alexander and two great-grandchildren Braiden and Blake. She is also survived by her brothers Richard (Donna) Peck of Placitas, NM, Robert (Wanda) Peck of Bella Vista, AR, and Larry (Mickey) Peck of Racine, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Mary Peck.
Funeral services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4100 Nakoma Rd, Madison, WI 53711 at 11 am on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. There will also be a visitation at the church at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Care Wisconsin or the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Madison. The family would like to thank the healthcare providers and staff of the University of Wisconsin Hospital for their care and compassion.
