Judith A. Olson

Judith “Judy” A. Olson (nee Leidig), age 74, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam and was reunited in heaven with her husband, Dan, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. She was born on June 8, 1950, in Baraboo to Lavern and Gladys (Berndt) Leidig. As a child, Judy enjoyed going to the family farm where she would ride horses and play with the kitties. She was a graduate of Madison High School and went on to graduate from Madison Business College. She began her career as an owner/operator of a dog boarding service, and then she went on to work for American Family Insurance for over 30 years. 

After retirement, Judy took her duties as grandma very seriously. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren including the annual trip to Marinette, WI and the Waterfront Festival in Menominee, MI. She was also able to join Dan on many work trips.

Dan and she loved gathering with friends for game nights and costume parties and this carried over when they attended the Renaissance Fair. 

Judy was best friends with her daughter, Lisa. From little on, Lisa and her mom had many adventures both big and small. In the last two years, the two were able to spend much time together and especially the last three months, when Judy was able to move to Randolph and live closer to Lisa. Their time together was immeasurable. 

Judy is survived by her daughter Lisa (Toby) Grossen; grandchildren Toby and Sarah; her grand dogs Roxy and Mickey; and other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Dan on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

The family would like to thank the staff at Randolph Health Services for their tremendous care for Judy during her stay the last three months.
