Judy Lee Conne

Madison:  Judy Lee Conne, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, surrounded by family. 

She was born April 18, 1945, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Edward and Rose Bashkin. Judy met her husband Rick Conne in high school, married on June 5, 1966, and they were together ever since.

It would be wrong to say Judy lost her battle with Alzheimer’s because she never stopped fighting. Judy was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a well loved member of Temple Beth El Sisterhood, several golf leagues, and enjoyed playing mahjong with close friends. She also loved gardening, her frequent trips to Door County, and was well known as an excellent cook and baker. Judy volunteered with the American Cancer Society, her children’s school PTOs, and enjoyed coaching softball and soccer.

Judy is survived by her husband, Rick; daughter Cherie McKenney (Conne) and her children Jackson and Megan; son David (Rasha) Conne and their children Aidan, Allie and Sophia; son Brian (Kelly) Conne; and brother William (Judy) Bashkin. She was preceded in death by her parents.  

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705 with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Burial will follow at Beit Olamim at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will be sitting shiva immediately following the burial on Monday as well as Tuesday from 3 to 8. Friends and family are invited.
