Judy Courter

Sun Prairie - Judith "Judy" A. Courter, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away suddenly in the ICU at St. Mary's Hospital on August 1, 2017.

She was born on June 26, 1938, the daughter to Evelyn Hammer and Claude Owen.

Judy was proud to be working for the Sun Prairie Police Department for 27 years and often referred to them as her second family. She loved to shop and Costco was one of her favorites. She also cherished her family and enjoyed spoiling them on occasion.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Carolyn "CJ" (Duane) Johnson; grandchildren, Benjamin and Angela; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Catalina, Jacoby and Jade; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph.

A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens in Sun Prairie. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
