Judy Jones

MADISON-Judy Ann Campbell Jones, aged 69, passed away on March 1st 2017 at Brookdale Memory Care in Middleton, WI. She was born September 12th, 1947 to Margaret Rose (nee Nigra) and William Thomas Campbell in Herrin, Ill. She married Terrence D. Jones on December 16th, 1967. They recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.

She taught Math at Madison Area Technical College (now Madison College) from 1981-2010. She was Math Dept. Lead Teacher for a number of years. Judy was active in various math education societies and WEAC/AFT. Previously she worked as a program assistant at the University of Wisconsin Extension Engineering from 1974-1980.

She attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin Madison receiving a M.S. in Adult Education Administration, 1973-74 and her B.A. in math education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale 1965-1969. She graduated from Herrin Illinois High School in 1965. Elementary education was at Our Lady of Mount Carmel (St. Mary's).

She loved to travel, and traveled all across the US with Terry, and together they have visited 20 + countries. Besides travelling, in her free time she loved to bike, knit, read, sing, and play dulcimer.

She is survived by her husband, Terrence Jones, her daughter Terra, her sisters, Cindy Sue Minor (David) and Toni Marie Andesilich (Michael), and her mother Margaret Campbell. Nieces Caitlin Minor and Kristin Leah Minor. Cousins: Mary Fran McQuade (Barry), Theresa Geralds (Jerald) and R. A. Peithman and Goddaughter Lisa Myer.

She was preceded in death by her Father William T. Campbell, Father-in-law William J. Jones Jr. and Mother-in-law June Elaine Jones.
A memorial service will be held on April 7th at Holy Wisdom Monastery (4200 County Road M Middleton, WI), with visitation starting at 11 AM, Eucharist at 12; followed by a light lunch.
