Judy F. Mislivecek, age 66, passed away at HospiceCare in Fitchburg on Friday, January 7, 2011. Â She was born in Beloit, WI on March 23, 1944, a daughter of Elroy and Dorothy (Carpenter) Gjestson. Â Judy married her first husband, and father of her sons, Lowell Bert' Sorenson on August 30, 1964. Â She later married James Mislivecek on February 14, 1984. Â Judy graduated from Beloit Memorial High School and went on to Beloit College for 2 years, majoring in English Literature. Â She worked as the Department Secretary for the College of Agricultural Journalism at the University of Wisconsin for over 25 years. Â She was a member of the Cap City 4 Lakes Hog Club, enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband Jim, and bowling. Â She was a big fan of the Packers, Badgers, and NASCAR. Â Judy is survived by her husband, Jim Mislivecek; sons, Curtis (Lori) Sorenson and Scott (Kara) Sorenson; step-children, Mike Mislivecek and Suzanne Brettell; grandchildren, Kassandra, Celina, Coty, Seth, Elizabeth, Emily and Travis; a brother, Alan (Sue) Gjestson; sisters in law, Linda Coon and Alice Dunse; brother in law, Richard Mislivecek; and many nieces and nephews. Â She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother in law, Tom Coon. Â Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11:00 am at Deerfield Lutheran Church, 206 S. Main St., Deerfield with the Rev. Larry Sexe officiating. Â Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove. Â The family will greet friends at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Deerfield on Wednesday, January 12th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and again at church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
