Julie Hellenbrand

September 20, 1970 — December 12, 2024

Waunakee

Julie Lynn Hellenbrand passed away peacefully at Unity Point Meriter Hospital on Thursday December 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Julie dedicated her life to serving others. She began her healthcare career as a dialysis technician before joining UW Hospital Carbone Cancer Center as a nursing assistant, later becoming a certified nursing assistant. Her passion for helping others extended to her community as a volunteer EMT with the Waunakee Area EMS Service, where she also served on its board of directors.

Julie was a devoted mother to their son Carter and cherished attending his hockey games, football games, and track meets. She shared a special bond with their daughter-in-law Marly, whom she loved as her own daughter. Julie was eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first grandchild. During her final hours, the ICU staff arranged for an in-room ultrasound to allow Julie to see her granddaughter. This moment brought immense joy and comfort to her and her family.

Julie enjoyed spending time at her in-law’s cottage at Swan Lake and her and Paul’s cabin in Eagle River. There she and Paul enjoyed boating, UTV riding, snowmobiling, and relaxing by the lake with family and friends. She loved cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers. She also enjoyed working out with her Burn Boot Camp Middleton “Family.” Julie will be remembered for vibrant personality, ability to connect with everyone she met, and always managing to light up a room.

Julie is survived by her husband Paul; son Carter and his wife Marly; mother Georgia; brothers Bob (Michelle) and Tim (Tina); mother-in-law Florence Hellenbrand; brothers-in-law Jeff (Ruth), Terry (Jamie), Kevin (Sue) and Jay (Pamela); sisters-in-law Sue (Marty) and Jodi (Jeff); nephews Tyler, Travis (Lindsi), Caleb (Kayla), Isaac (Lucy), Russ (Maria), Alex and Sawyer; nieces Dana (Cory), Andrea (Ryan), Jenna (Matt), Amanda (Aaron), Teagan, Ciboney and Seanna; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Bob; father-in-law Jim Hellenbrand; cousin John Paul Scheer; and best friend Jamie LaBrasca.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Fresenius Kidney Care’s Home Dialysis Team, Dr. Cassandra Valmadrid and her staff at UW Health, and the ICU staff at Unity Point Meriter Hospital for all of their compassionate care during Julie’s journey.

May Julie’s memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
