June Ahrens

June A. Ahrens, age 88 passed away the morning of Tuesday, August 21, 2012. She was a life-long resident of Madison, born on June 17, 1924 to the late Otto and Thelma (Hauge) Ahrens. She was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture for 33 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Midvale Community Lutheran Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and traveling the country touring botanical gardens.

She is survived by many cousins including her two godsons, Tom Speranza and Jeffrey Faust.

She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Midvale Community Lutheran Church, 4329 Tokay Blvd., Madison with Rev. Bruce D. Loewenhagen officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will be served followed by burial in Forest Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to Midvale Community Lutheran Church, Olbrich Botanical Gardens or Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.
