Madison - June Carol Anderson, age 85, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Saint Mary's Care Center in Madison. She was born on June 15th, 1931 to Gustav and Alvina (Baumbach) Licht. June was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, John Rodger Anderson. She is survived by her sons Jeff (Jennifer) and Jayson (Laurie), daughter Joy (deceased), four grandchildren, Christopher, Kathryn, Eva and Gus Anderson, her sisters Karen Bhirdo (Mike Bhirdo, Cindy, Shelley), Rosemary Lewis (deceased), and her brother Carl Licht (deceased).
June grew up in Madison, and first met her husband-to-be at West High School. But it wasn't until later on, when June and John both sang in the Luther Memorial Church Choir that they became engaged. June helped support her family, working at the State Laboratory of Hygiene, the Madison Public Schools and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. June and John enjoyed vacations to the Wisconsin and Minnesota north woods, and loved to be with their grandchildren, whether it was in the backyard, or hundreds of miles away on a long sports weekend. June remained a devoted (and tested) fan of the Milwaukee Brewers to her dying day.
