June Naomi Hosely (Glienke), 90 years old, died peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones, in Sun Prairie, WI. Born February 21,1933, June lived a long, meaningful life, and was known for her kindness and humor. Her life’s work was raising her two wonderful children and four grandchildren.
June was the best mom and grandma, and especially prized being playful. She was always playing games, pretending, and making up stories with her family. She was also incredibly creative, loved to sing, crochet, craft, and bake. Her grandkids loved her “wiggle giggle” Jello and her famous cookie bars; she loved it when they called her their “Goofy Grandma.” June provided everything her family needed, always cared for her children and grandchildren, and made sure everyone’s bellies and hearts were always full.
One of June’s best qualities was her acceptance and love for others outside of her family, without condition. She and her husband Harold often visited Walmart, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, and Kwik Trip in Sun Prairie, WI. They both befriended many employees, and June always delivered homemade treats on each of their birthdays. She consistently sent handmade birthday and holiday notes to her loved ones in the mail and took time to cut out and paste pictures that were meaningful to each person as decorations for the note and envelope.
She was easy to love, as displayed by the Prairie Gardens and Hospice staff who cared for her so well at the end of her life. Her family is so grateful for their compassion.
June’s smile, kind eyes, and warm hugs will be incredibly missed. Her loved ones are grateful for the many years she sang “Happy Birthday” over the phone or the phone calls to check in. She lived her life with humility and grace, and her family and friends all feel lucky to have loved and been loved by her.
June loved God, and her family is confident she is at peace, in Heaven, with her Savior and the loved ones who went before her. June was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Harold Hosely; brother, Harry (Ruth) Glienke, and parents, Violet and Charles Glienke.
June is survived by her son, Howard (Cynthia) Hosely; daughter, Peggy (Richard) Morrell; brother, Kenneth Glienke; grandchildren, Jennifer Hosely, Katya (Alex) Larsen, Kyle Hosely, and Meghan Hosely; great-grandchildren, Tilia Larsen, Henrik Larsen, and Bennett Miskowski; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of June’s life will be held 11:30 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Cress Funeral home located at 1310 Emerald Terrace in Sun Prairie, WI. Visitation will be from 10-11:30 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the funeral home. A luncheon at the funeral home will follow the service.
