MADISON- June Stebbins Johnson, age 90, of Madison went home to be with her Lord on May 15, 2018.
June was preceded in death by her dear husband, John, a baby son, David Elwin, her sisters, Marian Ager and Carol Stumpf; and a brother, Paul Stebbins.
She is survived by two daughters, Chris Johnson of Madison and Jayne Brown of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Richaard, Jessica and Jeanine; a niece, Sally (Kevin) Tarvid of West Allis, and nephew, Merlin Ager of Cedarville, Ohio.
June grew up in Poynette and married her high school sweetheart, John Johnson. On Valentines Day 1948, she told him it was time to get married. They got married April 14, 1949. They accepted the Lord at a Billy Graham Crusade in California where John was stationed in the Air Force. On December 5, 1955 John left the Air Force and they moved back to Poynette. They moved to Park Circle in Middleton in 1967 and did foster care then adopted Christine and Jayne. Since the year 2000, they have lived in Waunakee, Madison, and Middleton where they resided at The Jefferson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 18th, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Winn Cress Funeral Home, 5785 HWY Q, Waunakee, with a funeral service to follow. June will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens next to John in Madison.
