Stoughton - Karen Margaret Boehme passed away on Feb. 11, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg at the age of 66.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Meghann Proper (Kevin) of Stoughton; her pride and joy, granddaughter, Matilda; her sister, Sandi (John) Hrovatin of Green Valley, Ariz.; her niece, Melissa (Josh) Bemus of Muskego, Wis.; and grand-nephew, Isaac.
Karen was born in Bedford, Ind., daughter of the late Edgar Boehme and Iola Mecker Boehme. Karen graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana. After moving to Stoughton, she started working at Madison General, now Meriter, in the department of dietetics. Karen retired from Meriter Hospital as the Manager of Dietetics after 37 years in June of 2016.
She was a longtime member of Covenant Lutheran Church in Stoughton. She was very involved in the music ministries of the church, lending her beautiful voice to many choral opportunities.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at COVENANT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1525 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, with Pastor Jerry Tews presiding. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Karen's life from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Family and friends are invited to a meal following the service.
