Karen M. Johnson passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center, in Fitchburg. Â She was born on January 13, 1942, in Watertown, Wisconsin, the daughter of Irving W. and Bernice D. Moberg. Â Karen was raised in Beaver Dam, Reedsburg, and Wisconsin Rapids where she was active in Girl Scouts, ballet and orchestra. Â She attended the University of Wisconsin -- Madison where she majored in home economics and played in the UW Orchestra. Â Karen married Walter A. ""Skip"" Johnson, III on April 24, 1965, and they lived in Germany and Italy while Skip was in the Army. Â Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Â She was an avid Badger fan and loved attending football games from tailgating to the Fifth Quarter. Â Her interests included cross-stitching, quilting, sewing and traveling. Â She is survived by her husband Skip; daughters Carrie J. (Brian) Haberstich of Naperville, Illinois and Amy S. (John) Kampe of Neenah; grandchildren Caitlyn B. and Benjamin J. Kampe; sisters Patricia M. (James) Arnold and Barbara L. (William) McCracken; brother-in-law William R. (Cathy) Johnson and sister-in-law Kay I. (John) Lingenfelder; and uncle Harry F. (Florence) Dauffenbach; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Â Â She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts and uncles Anita (Paul Frank) (George Otto) Wesley O. (Jean) Moberg, and Norman A. (Patricia) Moberg. Â A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2009 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, WI. Â Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at BETHANY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3910 Mineral Point Rd., Madison, WI Â 53705, with visitation from 3:00 pm until the time of service.
