Karen A. Rulland

Madison -- Karen A. Rulland, age 70, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on January 10, 1941 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, the daughter of Sigmund and Helene (Angell) Rulland. The family moved to Waupun in 1951. Karen graduated from Waupun High School in 1959. She then moved to Madison where she graduated from Madison Business College. Karen worked for the University of Wisconsin Chemistry Department until she retired in 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Brad) Polensky; grandsons, Jared Rulland and Kyle Kaus; great granddaughter, Kaia-Marie Price; sisters, Barbara Brissette, Judith (Ronald) Homan, Patricia Rulland; a brother, Thomas Rulland, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of TLC unit at UW Hospital for their wonderful and compassionate care.
