Karla Bedord

December 13, 1947 — January 4, 2020

Karla Annette Bedord, age 72, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Karla was born on December 13, 1947, to parents Barbara Jean and Frank Leroy Roloff. Karla was blessed with the best childhood ever, not with money, but with something more important: LOVE. Karla worked in the banking and tax industries. During that time, she was blessed with two wonderful children, Michelle Swenson and Richard Gerou. Karla then began working at Sentry Foods on Raymond Road as well as other locations and retired from the deli and bakery departments of Metcalf's Sentry at Hilldale in 2010.

On August 1, 1990, Karla married George and gained two children, two grandchildren, and two parents, all who welcomed her. All to love and be proud of children Victoria Cardiel of Mazomanie and Bill Bedord (Holly) of Verona. Grandchildren Allison Cardiel of Madison and Maranda Cardiel of Westborough, Massachusetts.

Karla's family welcomed George and his family with love and kindness. They were always telling her how lucky she was to be with George, and I felt it too. Karla asked God for a friend and got so very much more.

Karla is survived by George, her loving husband, friend, lover-always sharing through good times, and bad. They did it together - walks, fishing, shooting, visiting with family, and travels through Wisconsin back roads. Karla is also survived by her brothers, Frank Roloff, Jr. (Tim) and wife, Kathy of Madison and brother, David Roloff (Beth) of Verona. Karla is survived by children, Michelle Swenson (Mike) of Firestone, Colorado and Richard Gerou (Holly) of Fitchburg. Grandchildren, Brandon Swenson (Sarah) of Hawaii; Taylor Swenson of New York; Jessica Zeller (John) of Rochester, Minnesota; Lauren Swenson of Firestone, Colorado; Cal Swenson of Firestone, Colorado, Corbin Gerou of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Kai Gerou of Fitchburg.

Karla is further survived by Aunt Annie and Uncle David Bennett of Woodstock, Virginia. Aunt Annie always inspired Karla with positive attitudes getting through many health issues. Cousin Laura and Joe Gott of Clifton, Virginia. Cousin Laura, who Karla took care of and grew up with like a little sister. Karla now looks up to her and admires her. Time changes things. Karla shared many summers during her childhood with Cousin Cindy Runde (Charles) of Platteville. Karla learned how to enjoy small-town life and the time with them left Karla feeling like she had a second family with so many positive experiences.

Karla was preceded in death by her father and mother, Frank and Barbara Roloff; brother William Roloff who was loved by all; God-parents David A. and Jackie Nelson of Pasadena, California who are special people and true examples of faith and love; as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends.
