Katherine Brandt

Katherine Ann Brandt was born on May 15, 1952, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. She was the first of four daughters born to William and Jean Cencic. She attended Van Hise Elementary School and graduated from West High School in 1970.

Kathy married Edwin Brandt on August 10,1974, at Queen of Peace Church in Madison. She worked many years at Gimbels and went on to start an independent house cleaning business, where she made many friends. She ended her working career at UW Hospital. She loved family, friends, music, and animals.  She loved her yard, planting flowers, the Hilldale farmer’s market, living in her childhood home, and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jean Cencic, and several loving dogs. She is survived by her husband Ed, sisters, Paula (Brian) Wermich, Carol (Kevin) Rommelfanger, Mary (Rick) Bennett, sister and brother-in-law, Sis and Gib Schmidt, and many special nieces, nephews, and their families, which she dearly loved.

A private family service will be held.  Contributions to your local animal rescue in Kathy’s name would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date.
