Kathleen Ganser

Sun Prairie - Kathleen A. Ganser, age 86, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Agrace Hospice Center in Fitchburg, WI. She was born March 12, 1 925 in Fort Atkinson, WI, to Clarence and Bonnie (Hoskins) Hensey.

Mrs. Ganser was united in marriage to Robert Ganser on July 9, 1949 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Kathleen was a graduate of Fort Atkinson High School in 1943, and Whitewater College of the Wisconsin State University system in 1946 where she received a bachelor's of science degree. After graduating, Kathleen began her teaching career in Shawano, WI, and later taught in both Sun Prairie and Marshall, WI. Kathleen was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, as well as the Colonial Club, the Girl Scouts of America, and the St. Anne Society. Bridge was a lifetime passion of Kathleen's and she belonged to various bridge clubs. Traveling was another great passion of Kathleen's. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, including Norway, Germany and Ireland, Canada and the State of Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Hensey, and her husband. Kathleen leaves behind her children Judy (Mike Glasheen) McCarthy of Racine, Tom (Gail) Ganser of Dassel, MN, Joellen (Klaus) Scott of Davis, CA, Mike (Kari) Ganser of Sun Prairie, Brendan (Vicki) Ganser of Poy Sippi, WI, and Roberta (Mike) Molnar of Green Bay. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Corey, Kelly, Angela, Jeffrey, Christopher, Carolyn, Mallory, Tyler, Adam, Mariah, Molly, Amy, Meredith, Murielle, Bethany and Michael, as well as eleven great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert Dr., Sun Prairie at 11:00 am with Monsignor Terrence Connors presiding. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass.
