Kathleen Hoffman

Stoughton - Kathleen M. Hoffman, age 71, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Nazareth House in Stoughton. She was born on December 7, 1944 in Madison, Wisc., the daughter of Matthias and Blanche (Mills) Wipperfurth. She married Gerald Hoffman on July 25, 1963 in Bristol, Wisconsin.

Together Kathleen and Gerald raised four children and took in 63 foster children. Every child was like one of her own. Kathleen worked for many years at WPS Insurance. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, Yahtzee, and other various board games. Before her stroke, Kathleen loved to work in her garden, decorating her house, and doing cross stitch.

She is survived by her children, Tom (Denise) and Pat (Denise); grandchildren, Dustin, Nichole, Tara, Hunter, Alexis, Shelby, Nick, and Ben; son-in-law Bill LaFear; brothers, George, and Mark (Nancy) Wipperfurth; sisters Mary (Ray) Bula and Rose Wipperfurth; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald; son, Tim; and daughter, Terry LaFear.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Nazareth House Chapel, 814 Jackson, St., Stoughton, with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. Visitation will be held from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton. Additional visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services on Monday.
