Kathleen Skelton

Kathleen (Kay) B Skelton was born November of 1924 to George and Lillian Hacker in Racine WI, and passed away on November 12th 2024 just short of her 100th birthday. 

She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School Racine, WI in 1942 and then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she obtained a business degree in accounting in 1946. 

She worked for IBM and then married John Skelton of Madison.  From this union, 4 children were born, James (Connie), Kathleen, Susan, and Mary Clare. She had four grandchildren, Kwame Bernard, Cassandra Belle Richardson, and Christopher and John Andrews and two great grandchildren, Frankie and Georgie Low. She was predeceased in death by her mother and father; four sisters; daughter, Mary Clare; and grandchild Christopher.  

Kathleen was an avid boater along with her husband John and cruised the Mississippi River, the Great Lakes and Florida. She was a dedicated tennis player and attended Badger football games for over 50 years.  

She had a great faith in God and attended Catholic mass regularly.  She taught her children many life lessons. She was a very kind and thoughtful person. She will be greatly missed.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 18th at 11am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Dr, Madison, WI 53717. A visitation willl be held from 10am until the time of service.
