Sun Prairie - Kay L. Olson, age 64, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Kindred Hearts in Sun Prairie. She was born on January 23, 1952, to Gordon and Bertha (Nelson) Olson in Marquette, Michigan where she lived for 52 years. Kay was a member of the Marquette Choral Society, sang with her church choir at Messiah Lutheran, and volunteered at the Red Cross office in Marquette for 25 years. After moving to Sun Prairie in 2004, she became a member of the senior choir at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and also joined the Colonial Club Chorus. Besides her lifelong love of music, Kay enjoyed playing cards, bingo and activities with her family and many friends.
She is survived by her brother, Jay (Linda) Olson; nephews, Anders (Alysa) Olson and Dan Olson; great nephews, Niels and Lodin; an aunt, uncles, and many cousins.
Kay was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents.
A memorial service will be held at OUR SAVIOR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie, on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Timothy Hansen officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Council of the Blind and visually impaired or Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
