Keith Andrew Callan, age 63, Madison, passed away on April 10, 2024, at his home. He was born on November 22, 1960, in Oakland, CA, the son of James Andrew Callan and Lelia Mary Jackson.
As a young man, Keith was a talented student, and graduated El Cerrito High School in California. He then enlisted in the United States Airforce from 1978 to 1982, serving in Germany. He received a good conduct medal, among others, and eventually became a Senior Airman working as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist.
After serving, Keith returned to California and married Bernadette Marie Callan. They had their two sons in California, James and David. Together, they moved their young family to Wisconsin and settled in Stoughton. They raised their sons here through high school, in a happy and loving home.
After their marriage ended, Bernie and Keith always remained good friends. When Keith found love again with Kathleen Chung, Bernie and the whole family welcomed her with open hearts and hugs. Keith and Kathy stayed together for many years, before and after their marriage as well. Together they all were uniquely and specially bonded in love – due to Keith’s devotion.
Keith worked in the hospitality field, most recently as a manager of a local hotel. When he wasn’t working hard, he could be found out on his boat absorbing the sun or playing frisbee with his sons and grandchildren. He was so proud of his grandson Chael and loved playing games and “high tea” with his granddaughters Chloe and Evelyn.
Keith was a voracious reader of science fiction and enjoyed an eclectic mix of music and live shows whenever he could. He loved working out, cars, candy, cookies, and a large glass of milk.
Keith was all heart. His family and friends loved and adored him well. We will love and keep you in our hearts, dear Keith, forever.
Keith is survived by his sons, James J. Callan (Amanda), David Lee A. Callan (Sarah), and his grandchildren (Chael, Chloe, and Evelyn). He is also mourned by his cousin, more aptly brother Garth, best friends Bernadette and Jody, and the love of his life, Kathy.
He was preceded in death by his father James Andrew Callan and Stepmother Mary Lou.
