Madison – Kelly Cooper, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 7, 2021, with family and her beloved dog “Buster” at her side.
Kelly was born on June 6, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of James Robert and Mary Nell (McMichael) Cooper. She graduated from James Madison Memorial High School in 1969. Kelly worked and lived in Madison and retired from Cuna Mutual.
Kelly enjoyed old movies, Badger and Packer football, Wonderword puzzles, puzzles, gardening and cooking. She loved hosting parties, and deeply appreciated the kindness of her Midvale Heights neighbors.
Kelly will be missed by her family, including her siblings, Ellen Bliss of Punta Gorda, FL, Robert (Nina) of Newport, RI, Michael of Columbus, Ronald of Denver, CO; Deborah (William) Mathy of Portage and Richard of Middleton; and many nieces and nephews. Most of all, Kelly will be missed by her dear sister, Judy. Kelly cared for Judy for more than thirty years and the two shared many laughs and trips together. Two of their favorite places were Disneyworld and Dauphin Island, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be gifted to the UW Carbone Cancer Center or Dane County Humane Society.
