After a 10-year long relationship, he finally married the love of his life, Julie, in 1983. The two of them moved to Denver, Colorado where Kelly earned a coveted position with Jones International as a Network Engineer. Kelly loved living in Colorado and always wanted to live there again. He was a skilled photographer and spent a lot of his time taking pictures of the Rocky Mountain scenery. Kelly really enjoyed the ever-changing climate and often spoke of "skiing in shorts and a t-shirt" as one of the advantages of Colorado living. He also enjoyed fly-fishing, hiking, and golfing. Kelly made many friends during his time there and liked to join in on "happy hour" after work.
After 10 years, Kelly and Julie moved back to Milton, WI where they decided to raise their family. He was adored by his daughter and respected by his son.
In his later years Kelly loved to spend time outside. He continued to exercise regularly and spent a lot of time doing yardwork. Kelly and Julie traveled extensively, making numerous trips to their favorite destination- the North Shore of Oahu, HI. Kelly was able to make it back to Denver, and lived there for a year in 2015. He became extremely interested in economics and was always watching the markets. In addition, he was interested in weather and often asked people to go "storm chasing" with him. Kelly was an avid Packer fan and was looking forward to spending Sunday's watching the game with family and friends.
