Kenneth Nelson

Viroqua - Kenneth O. Nelson, age 90, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at Skaalen Nursing and Rehab. He was born on May 8, 1925, son of Chester and Rhonda (Thompson) Nelson. On April 11, 1953, Ken married the love of his life Marjorie James.

Ken grew up and graduated from Viroqua High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Luther College in Decora, Iowa. He was a medical clinic administrator and distinguished himself in this field throughout the Midwest. In his retirement years he enjoyed consulting in his profession and served on the board of directors with Acuity Insurance Co. in Sheboygan for many years.

Ken is survived by his wife Marjorie; daughter Julie Smay; son Jim Nelson; four grandsons Mazen Abdu, Andrew (AJ) Bansemer, Nelson, Erik Smay; 1 greatgrandson Connor Smay; sister Catherine Nelson; and sister in-law Alyce Derwinski.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Lori Bansemer; and his brother Duane Nelson.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September, 19, 2015 at Skaalen Home Chapel, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, WI, with Rev. James Koza presiding. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of services on Saturday. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon in the friendship room of Skaalen Home immediately following the services.
