Kenneth H Neville

DeForest- Kenneth Hampton Neville, age 93, passed away on November 24, 2010 at Good Samaritan Society of Lodi. He was born on March 6, 1917 in Detroit, MI the son of Elliot & Geneva (Junk) Neville. Ken was united in marriage to Marion Dannen on June 26, 1940. He grew up on a farm in Adair County, IA and graduated from Stuart (IA) High School in 1934. He attended Central College, Pella, IA. Ken was a commissioned officer in the US Army Air Corp in WWII and retired from the US Air Force Reserves as a Major. He retired as a sales representative for New Holland, a major manufacturer of farm machinery after 30 years and after retirement stayed active working part-time for Hanley Co. in Sun Prairie, WI for more than 10 years. Ken was active in the Masons for many years. He was known as a good speaker and was often asked to perform the rituals at Masonic officer installation and other ceremonies. He was Past Worshipful Master and Life member of St. Marks Masonic Lodge #63, Woodstock, IL and Past Worthy Patron, Order of the Eastern Star, Woodstock, IL. Ken was an active member of Christian Faith Moravian Church, DeForest, WI. In his spare time he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many fishing trips to northern Minnesota, Canada and to Lake Michigan salmon fishing. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marion; his children, Warren, Rockford, IL and Mark, Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Kim (Terry) Clement, Thomas (Sue), Melissa (Greg) Rose, Janel (Daren) Brown and Emily Neville; step-grandson, Robbie; great-grandchildren, Kevin & Julie Clement, Lindsey & Erin Neville, Jenna Rose and Landry & Rylan Brown; brother, Carroll, Dallas Center, IA; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Thomas, his daughter, Karen, and brother, Thomas. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Faith Moravian Church, 805 E. Holum St., DeForest with Rev. Kurt Liebenow officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock, IL. . In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, the Good Samaritan Society of Lodi or the DeForest Moravian Church.
